I have been waiting for Hot Shots! to come out on DVD for ages and stumbled upon it at the store yesterday. I watched it and there are so many sight gags - it is a lot like the stuff written by the Airplane producers - you can watch it 10 times and see new things each time. It is truly a classic and hilarious. I&#39;m so glad to have added this to my collection. 5 stars!
Hot Shots is a good movie with a good story line,a great cast and plenty of hilarious scenes.Its from one of the writers of Airplane and Naked Gun,but this movie certainly doesn&#39;t have as memorable or funny scenes,and no lines that you will find yourself quoting for the rest of your life.But its still a decent funny movie,better than Top Gun,the movie it parodies,I&#39;m never been a big fan of Top Gun because its just very boring and extremely cheesy.I did get a good kick out of seeing Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer,starring alongside each other long before Two And A Half Men,I find Jon Cryer very funny,and is the only reason why I still watch the new Two And A Half Men episodes.<br/><br/>Topper Harley (Charlie Sheen) must save a mission that has been sabotaged by weapon manufacturers.
While the slapstick comedy antics are frequently amusing and, on rare occasions, even hilarious, HOT SHOTS!, like so many other cinematic parodies before it, tends to lose sight–or control–of the plot, such as it is, in favor of more jokes, more visual gags and more dialogue puns–all hurled at the audience at a rapid-fire pace.
Two uses of f**k were removed, as was dialogue about inbreeding.
